100 days of code: Day 55

I am tracking notes on PowerShell in PS1 files on my git hub repository. You can see all 100 days of code entries on the blog category page.

I’m passed the half way point. Just noticed that. Probably that’s good.

I’m working on a separate thing related to this chapter, about PS and remoting in to one or devices on the network.

Most of the help on the web is about accomplishing this in a domain environment. Doing so in a work group is either dismissed as too difficult to describe how to do or just dismissed out of mind as not appropriate, secure, whatever.

Well I don’t have a domain at home. I have 8 year old trash laptops with Windows 7 and I can virtual machines. But I don’t have a domain and probably won’t have one in the near future.

But I think I figured out how to set up WinRM/Enter-PSSession in a work group. So I’ll be reading through the chapter and writing an entry on how to set it up in a work group.

Yep. First few pages of chapter 13 are kind of worthless. I mean the XML object stuff is kind of interesting but a lot of it is inaccurate and/or aimed on PS v3 rather than v5.

It’s fine. I’ll keep going.
